Merger edit

Frietjes, is the merger complete? If so, I'm wondering about the coloration - infobox religious biography has a different set of colours for Hinduism (found here) than what this template is using. Primefac (talk) 16:09, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Primefac, the template is now a wrapper. as far as I can tell, FFC569 is the same as FFC569. Frietjes (talk) 16:11, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Oh, figured it out. The /color template is using different values than the /doc examples. I'll update that. Primefac (talk) 16:13, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Senior posting? edit

@Frietjes: I see an odd "Senior posting" section in Agastya, passing through this template. Why do we have this? It makes no sense in the context of Agastya. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 05:09, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ms Sarah Welch, I had noticed that before but didn't have a chance to fix it. should be fixed now. Frietjes (talk) 14:04, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Frietjes: Looks fixed for Agastya of Hinduism. See Guru Tegh Bahadur of Sikhism please. The "Senior posting" for their Gurus needs a similar fix. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 17:21, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ms Sarah Welch, should be fixed now. Frietjes (talk) 17:29, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Frietjes. It now displays the Predecessor and Successor under Personal section. It would be more clear to non-Sikh readers if these two were displayed in the section above, as these two entries are not personal information, rather they refer to the sequence of the Gurus in Sikhism. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 17:52, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ms Sarah Welch, it would be easier if we could just use a different heading. how about "Career"? or something else? Frietjes (talk) 18:12, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I agree, merging senior posting to religious career would be a good idea. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 18:47, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I figured out a solution. should be fixed now. it would be easier if the sections were in a different order, but what I added should work. Frietjes (talk) 18:59, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I like your solution, Frietjes. Much clearer now, Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 20:29, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Frietjes, I have the same "Senior posting" glitch in the Hindu leader template at Bhaktivedanta Swami. Would be grateful for a clue how to fix it. Thanks and regards, Cinosaur (talk) 18:41, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Cinosaur: According to the source code, the post section's header changes based on the value in the "religion" property. In the case of the Bhaktivedanta Swami article, the value is "Gaudiya Vaishnavism (Hinduism)". Moving part of that to the "denomination" property should fix the section header.
Displayed section headers:
 • "Religious career" for religions "Hinduism", "Jainism", and "Sikhism".
 • "Jewish leader" for religion "Judaism".
 • "Muslim leader" for religion "Islam".
 • "Senior posting" default.

@Jroberson108:, many thanks, your suggestion did the trick. Regards, Cinosaur (talk) 18:56, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
