According to the biographies of Beecham by John Lucas, Charles Reid and Alan Jefferson (see Beecham article for bibliographical details) Beecham was never principal conductor of the Hallé. He was "musical adviser" and honorary president of the Hallé Concerts Society, but not principal conductor. Tim riley (talk) 10:50, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
