Template talk:Edit partially-blocked

Flawed edit

So what I am seeing here is that this template is being merged with the {{request edit}} template. Are we really merging it it with that? It's for COI, and not all blocks are going to be COI related. Even the instructions link regards COI matters.

It also breaks the purpose of User:AnomieBOT/EDITREQTable and Category:Wikipedia partially-blocked edit requests. There are 2 different ways this template is going forward. {{reply to|Can I Log In}}'s talk page! 14:32, 23 June 2020 (UTC); edited 14:35, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

The templates have identical purposes just with a minor change in text. I see zero reason to not use existing systems to standardize output. Primefac (talk) 14:39, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Will tweak from there, but in the future when this template is used as often as edit interface-protected, I'd request that subpages of this template be undeleted, particularly /request and /answered because it just doesn't fit with COI stuff. For one, why should the preset decline paramters be used? COI editors usually have less understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines, so it would be necessary for COI edit request, but not partially-blocked or protected. For protected edit request, response templates are used {{ESp|xy}}. I was going to redo it to reflect that of a protected edit request template—without the response templates—but instead, you go ahead and merge it with the COI edit request template wtihout understanding my intentions. {{reply to|Can I Log In}}'s talk page! 03:24, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
No reply means no objections or you just don't care anymore. I went ahead and changed it to reflect other protected edit request template. Template foundation is done without the pointless stuff. {{reply to|Can I Log In}}'s talk page! 19:58, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
No, I stopped replying because you weren't listening. Primefac (talk) 22:54, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Replace "article" with "page" to make the usage of the template less awkward for non-article namespaces. Also implement a {{{page}}} parameter to specify the page(s) to be edited. JsfasdF252 (talk) 23:51, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done, as this template is just a wrapper for {{request edit}} and has no text to change. Primefac (talk) 00:20, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
