Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

Notes edit

I created this template because many of the mentioned articles contained a section "Other Great People" and there was little consistency between them. I hope everyone thinks it's OK. Spebudmak 03:20, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

RS edit

Where is the reliable sourcing that these programs are in any way related? Otto4711 (talk) 13:17, 30 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Need for significant restructuring edit

I believe this template needs to be significantly reworked for the following reasons:

  1. This is the English Wikipedia. We can't assume that our readers can read languages other than English. Identifying the German edition only as Unsere Besten only helps if you know what language that is. (In fact, even if one did know it was German, how could one be sure it wasn't the edition from Austria, Switzerland, or Liechtenstein?)
  2. Even more so, we can't assume that our readers can read alphabets other than the Latin alphabet. How many English Wikipedia users can understand what Великите българи is supposed to be? Even those who can figure out that Velikite Balgari is the Bulgarian edition may well be fazed by the title when rendered in the Cyrillic alphabet.
  3. There is no reason I can think of to organize the template chronologically by airdate. There is no obvious chronological development from one edition to the next, because the persons eligible for each list are almost 100% different from country to country. The place to identify the dates of the various editions all together should be in Greatest Britons spin-offs, where, ironically, they don't appear now. Instead, they appear only in hidden text, where they don't do readers any good. Alphabetical order would make more sense here.

I'm going to add the airdates to Greatest Britons spin-offs first, and if there is no objection, I'm going to reorder the template to (a) be alphabetical by country and (b) identify the countries by English names before the titles, which will be rendered only in the Latin alphabet. (In other words, "Unsere Besten" will be replaced by "Germany: Unsere Besten".) --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:19, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Category edit

I have removed this from Category:United Kingdom television series navigational boxes and put it in Category:Television series navigational boxes given it covers a number of international series and not just the UK one and its UK spin offs. Dunarc (talk) 19:29, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
