Request for page parameter edit

Is Beyond My Ken or anyone else interested in adding an optional |page= parameter to this template, so one could type something like {{cite philarch|page=33}} and get the page number in the correct place, such as:

  • Gallery, John Andrew, ed. (2004). Philadelphia Architecture: A Guide to the City (2nd ed.). Philadelphia: Foundation for Architecture. p. 33. ISBN 0962290815.

See Arch Street Friends Meeting House reference 2 for an example of where this would be helpful. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 18:16, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I simply add the page after the template, as in {{cite philarch}}, p.xxx. That seems sufficient to me. BMK (talk) 18:23, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Beyond My Ken: Doing so misplaces the punctuation - compare the above with the output of {{cite philarch}}, p. 33:
  • Gallery, John Andrew, ed. (2004), Philadelphia Architecture: A Guide to the City (2nd ed.), Philadelphia: Foundation for Architecture, ISBN 0962290815, p. 33

And what, exactly, is the problem with that? Does the encyclopedia grind to a screeching halt because of the additional period? BMK (talk) 03:48, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
