I know that this is probably beyond the scope of this talk page, but it would be great if Citation 1 templates like this one that have a medium pre-defined ("Map" in this case) could combine the format and that medium together to eliminate the double parentheses. So a PDF map could be "(PDF map)" or whatever instead of "(Map). (PDF)." or however it will appear. Imzadi 1979 → 02:32, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

CS1 places |format= before the link, which does seem odd, but this is how all the other CS1 templates work; compare to {{cite book}}:

Some strange output

Look at footnotes 6, 58 and 59 on U.S. Route 2 in Michigan, and you'll see that because I don't have an edition defined in those references (they maps don't have editions), we're getting a comma after the scale, a space and then the period. Can someone fix this please? The article is headed to WP:FAC in the very near future. Imzadi 1979 → 23:28, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Fixed Since the parameters feed into one meta-parameter, the separators need to be conditional.

This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request.

To get |at= added, could we get the sandbox synced over to the live template. This will allow us to use custom section/inset/page numbers as needed. I've already tested the code at Interstate 375 (Michigan) (footnote 8 is using at for a range of sections on different insets on three different pages, and it appeared fine if I used {{cite map/sandbox}}.) Thanks.

Actually, no, it does not. The authors, editors and others parameters have been excluded in favor of publisher per past consensus. Imzadi 1979 → 22:53, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
