Sources for the table? Include artillery instead of ships? edit

If I may ask, what are the sources for this table? According to all the scholars I've read, the relief of the legations was accomplished by the Gaselee Expedition, which counted about 18,000 men, nowhere near the numbers indicated here. Does the table give the total number of troops on the allied boats? If this is the case, this would be quite misleading, as the table caption reads "Relief of the Legations". There is a detailed source we can use for the number of troops from each country during the Gaselee Expedition, but it doesn't distinguish between marines and ordinary soldiers, so we would have to cut down to 3 columns. I think it would also be more useful to include the number of field artillery pieces than the number of ships, because the ships themselves were not part of the relief expedition. What do you all think? Madalibi (talk) 19:26, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
