This template is used to create a table to display information about a video game or related medium in a stand-alone list of video game media. Not all parameters will be used. Different combinations of parameters are used to display different table formats. This template should be used in conjunction with {{VGmedia/entry}}.

Parameter descriptions
  • type: Used to define the type of medium. This changes the headings of the third and fourth columns of the table. The supported values are "game", "canceled game", "animation film radio" (or just "animation", "film" or "radio"), "music", "book" and "other". If the parameter is not specified or set to an unsupported value, it will default to "other".
  • col3 and col4: If the third or fourth column of the table is not needed, set one of these parameters to "no" to remove it. The remaining columns will expand to occupy the empty space; if you want to prevent this for aesthetic reasons, set the parameter to "invisible". Both columns can be removed.
  • col1 ref, col2 ref, col3 ref and col4 ref: Used to provide references for an entire column, if possible.
  • body: This is where the entries of the table go. Use {{VGmedia/entry}} for each item.

Additional notes:

  • col4 can also be used to change the heading of the fourth column, which by default is "Shipment or sales figure(s)". To display simply "Sales figure(s)" or "Shipment figure(s)", set the parameter to "sales only" or "shipment only". This does not apply when the type is set to "music", as the heading is "Charts position(s)" in that case.
  • col4 is automatically set to "no" when the type is set to "canceled game". It can be changed to "invisible" if necessary.
  • Add UK = yes to change the spellings of "canceled" and "catalog" in the headings to "cancelled" and "catalogue".
