This template produces basic external links for NJ Transit rail and light rail stations. What is shown above is the full capability of the template, obviously there is no station that serves all 3 light rail systems. Simply place this template on the page in the external links section, it should detect the name and display the appropriate info automatically. If any station articles are moved, please be sure to update the templates as follows:
- If the article name had and still has an ending of "(NJT station)" or "(Metro-North station)", there is no need to edit the main template. Skip this step.
- If you moved the page such that it no longer has the ending, add the page name to the template code in the list starting with "Atlantic City Rail Terminal". Separate entries with a pipe (|).
- Edit {{NJT links/rail}} to rename the entry for the station. Unless you moved one of the special cases (see below), you should need to edit 3 entries.
- If you moved the page such that it newly has the ending, reverse the above procedure. (remove the entry from the list, rename the entry) Note: Omit the ending when entering the name in the subpage.
- If you merely changed the first part of the name, simply edit {{NJT links/rail}} as above. Use the exact name of the page, endashes if necessary! Check the NJT site to make sure the station id in the URL and the DepartureVision 2-letter code is correct (test here).
Same applies to light rail stations, just use {{NJT links/HBLR}}, {{NJT links/NLR}}, or {{NJT links/River Line}} as appropriate. Light rail stations need only 1 edit in the subpage. For the station list in the main template code, use the list which begins with a station on the system you are working with.
Special cases edit
All West of Hudson Metro-North stations have only 2 entries in the subpage (DV and schedule).
These rail stations do not have all descriptor information, so please be careful when editing entries related to them.
