This is a documentation subpage for Template:Feat. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template should not be used in citation templates such as Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2, because it includes markup that will pollute the COinS metadata they produce; see Wikipedia:COinS. |
Usage edit
This template is used at first occurrence of the abbreviation "feat." (or "ft." – see below) to provide a mouse-over tooltip explaining what the abbreviation means, and optionally linking to the article about the concept.
Parameters edit
The parameter |link=yes
adds a link to "Guest appearance" (which is the redirect target of featured guest, featured performer, feat., etc.).
The parameter |ft=yes
changes "feat." to "ft." This should only be used in cases of verbatim material, such as a song title or directly quoted sentence that uses this hyper-abbreviation. It is too ambiguous for use otherwise, as it usually means the unit "foot"; when capitalized, it usually means "Fort" and exists with this meaning in various proper names.
The parameter |cap=yes
capitalizes "Feat." (or "Ft."). This should only be used in cases of verbatim material, such as a song title that capitalizes the abbreviation, or the beginning of a directly quoted sentence that starts with it.
Warnings edit
This template should not be substituted.
This template should not be used in song (or other work) titles in citation templates.
