Weldy Walker edit

Weldy Walker in 1883

  • ... that an 1888 letter written by Weldy Walker (pictured), the second African American in Major League Baseball, was called "perhaps the most passionate cry for justice ever voiced by a Negro athlete"?

  • Excellent expansion, date checks out, image checks out, and AFG on the hook... although I could swear I owned a copy of "Only the Ball Was White", but can't find it.  :-( Thank you very much for writing such a detailed article. My only request is that you fix up the citations. Since you sometimes cite only authors and page numbers after previously citing the whole book, I recommend reformatting your references to use {{Sfn}}. For an example of how it works, see my DYK nom. Hope that helps. – Maky « talk » 08:09, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
