USS Helianthus (SP-585) edit
- ... that the USS Helianthus, built as a private motorboat, went on to serve as a patrol boat for the US Navy, and then for the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey?

Article is new enough, however it is not long enough. DYK check reports 1186 characters of readable prose, short of the 1500 required. Also, there are no inline citations. Although there are only three sources, there still needs to be inline citations - especially for the hook.

- Size now meets guidelines, and there are inline citations (at least one per paragraph). Article is neutral. Hook looks good, interesting and within size. I don't think ALT1 can be used because the source does not substantiate this. The source merely says Helianthus is the genus of the sunflower. It does not say the vessel was named after the genus; it could have been name after some person who was named after the genus. QPQ review not required.
