Théâtre de la Mode edit

Théâtre de la Mode exhibit of doll-like mannequins wearing 1946 French couture clothing and accessories.

  • ... that seamstresses carried sewing machines from neighbourhood to neighbourhood to complete work on the Théâtre de la Mode during Paris's post-War electricity shortages?

Everything looks good to go. --TIAYN (talk) 10:42, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Close paraphrasing concerns. Examples: "demanding that top French fashion personnel be sent to Germany to establish a dressmaking school there" vs "demanded that high-level French personnel be sent to start a dressmaking school in Germany" and "Seamstresses carried their sewing machines from neighbourhood to neighbourhood" vs "seamstresses carried their sewing machines from neighborhood to neighborhood". I also note problems with sourcing - for instance, the first example I give above is cited to page 46, but should be page 45. Nikkimaria (talk) 13:36, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

But user hasn't been active since 28 November -- before the issues were raised. --Orlady (talk) 05:32, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
  • S/he has also had numerous warnings about close paraphrasing (remember the tea culture articles?) If you think it is better to hold onto it for now, I guess that is okay. Crisco 1492 (talk) 06:27, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
  • Begun on this one, but I need to get to sleep now. If no-one continues overnight I will continue tomorrow. Casliber (talk · contribs) 14:24, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
  • I substituted a cropped version of the image. --Orlady (talk) 19:47, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
I think the article is in reasonably good shape now. However, I suggest a completely different hook:
  • ALT1: that the Théâtre de la Mode is an exhibit of small-scale fashion mannequins (examples pictured) crafted by Paris fashion designers to help revive the French fashion industry after World War II? --Orlady (talk) 21:07, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
  • yes on the cropped image, yes on the newer hook. I reckon we've distanced the wording into ok territory. Casliber (talk · contribs) 00:37, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
