  • Obviously, only the article on the 1st symphony can be reviewed, the article on the composer himself is definitely not recent enough. That article on the 1st symphony is well sourced and written without noticeable mistakes, at least in my eyes. The hook is alright as well. However, the problem with the article is that it was created on 27 September but only nominated today! This contravenes Eligibility criteria a: "For DYK purposes, a "new" article is no more than seven days old, and may not consist of text spun off from a pre-existing article.", and thus this nomination must, sadly, be rejected. @Edelseider: It appears that this was the nominator's first nomination and may not have been familiar with the requirement. Would it be fine to grant a one-time IAR exception for this case, or is it just too late? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:11, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

I left the nominator another talk page message inviting them to comment here again. If they still wish to pursue the nomination, I can start a discussion on DYK for the date requirement to be waived. Thank you for your response. I did not know that the articles nominated for DYK had to be at most 7 days old. I would certainly appreciate an IAR exception. GeneralPoxter (talk) 18:22, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
This one was brought up at WT:DYK, and it looks like IAR is fine in this case. A word of advice here is that you can only nominate articles that you have worked up to the criteria yourself, so Symphony No. 1 is fine, but not the other one. You can include regular links to articles that don't meet the criteria, so I've made some changes. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:12, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

  • Everything is fine as stated above (minus the delay problem that has been dealt with), except that any article on a particular piece of music should include a discography (a list of available recordings). ALT1: ... that Vasily Kalinnikov composed his Symphony No. 1 in Yalta, where he recovered from tuberculosis?

He didn't recover from tuberculosis, he unfortunately succumbed to the disease. GeneralPoxter (talk) 01:55, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
