Sweetbriar Hall edit

- ALT3:... that Sweetbriar Hall (pictured), in Nantwich, Cheshire, escaped a 1583 fire that destroyed much of the town, but stopped at the adjacent building?

- Comment: Moved out of userspace on 17 December 2012. My favourite hook is Alt1, but it's slightly unclear whether Priestley did in fact live there, though stated in plenty of sources. Other images available.

I have checked the online sources including the ODNB entry for Bowman. Others are taken on good faith and are clearly of suitable quality. The architectural description is accurate. Length and mainspace date are fine. Given the number and range of sources making the claim for Priestley living there, I am happy to mark ALT1 as verified in addition to all the others. I would be inclined to change the lead, though, as follows: Joseph Priestley, scientist and philosopher, is believed to have lived at the hall in 1758–61 (I have not actually made this change yet). ALT2 is a good compromise, but my favourite hook is ALT3. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 22:00, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your careful review, Hassocks5489. I've edited the lead as you suggest. I'm happy with any of the hooks at the discretion of the promoting editor, though Alt2 has the disadvantage of losing the scientist idea, which is a shame (because of the clash of science with old black-and-white building), but I couldn't find a suitably succinct wording.
