SS Sirio

edit
  • ... that after the shipwreck of the Italian SS Sirio, in which hundreds of passengers died, the captain was the first to abandon ship and died "of a broken heart" within a year?
  • Reviewed: I reviewed a half a dozen last week, and will do some more this week.
  • Comment: Feel free to tweak the lead. There's other tidbits: he reportedly acted bravely on board (that was quickly corrected), or he killed himself still on board (also incorrect). You understand why I think this should go quickly--I'm leaning on the infamy of the cazzo Francesco Schettino.

  • : ma stupendo! A remarkable story. Good article, topical and historic, long enough. Hook quite long but within limits. Citations excellent. Good to go! Chiswick Chap (talk) 20:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Sorry to come in after "closing of the discussion, but how can anyone seeking to apply any rigour to these hooks pass a hook that is so fast and loose with the truth. There is absolutely no suggestion anywhere that the captain was the first person to get off the boat. This is entirely irresponsible, and shows no respect for the purpose of an encyclopaedia as a means of sharing information. Anyone willing to defend their actions on this? Not to state the obvious, but it took me about ten seconds to find "it soon emerged that he had been the first to abandon ship" in the article. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 19:50, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
