It also gave her a nickname: Rosa Luxemburg of Namibia.

While it would be nice to see the hook in the body of the article (instead of just the lead) and I think that the fact about her losing her job over holding hands with a white doctor is more "hooky", the current hook is accepted in good faith from a foreign language source and is of an appropriate length. No evidence of plagiarism, although I note that neither of the English-language references worked for me (and archival services seem to be down at the moment). @Canadian Paul: your alt idea is going to draw far more hooks than the original suggestion:- ALT1: ... that in 1985 Rosa Namises lost her job in a Namibian hospital after she was seen holding hands in public with a white doctor?

- Oh, sorry, @Yoninah:, I should have made that clear. This source says she loses her hospital job in 1985 ("Nach einer weiteren Verhaftung 1985 verliert Rosa ihre Arbeit im Krankenhaus."---After being jailed again in 1985 Rosa loses her job in the hospital.), and this source says the reason ("Als sie sich in einen weissen Arzt verliebt und mit ihm Hand in Hand durch Windhoek spaziert, ist die Grenze endgültig überschritten. Er wird versetzt, sie wird entlassen – und zur Widerstandskämpferin."---When she falls in love with a white doctor and strolls with him hand in hand in Windhoek, she has crossed the last line. Can't remember if I'm allowed/supposed to be the one reviewing ALT1 but, if I am, then ALT1 meets the formatting and content guidelines by my analysis, as it is short enough, interesting, neutral, and cited (assuming good faith for a foreign language I am not familiar with) in the article.
