@Iainmacintyre:, thank you for contributing to DYK. The article is 5x expanded, neutral, inline citations and sourced. Hook is interesting and short enough. QPQ done. The hook mentions that he was a Surgeon-dentist to Queen Victoria but Victoria is not mentioned or linked anywhere in the article. The article also needs some more links to places and people. In article, there is a line one of the most exclusive addresses in Edinburgh

- @Nizil Shah: Many thanks for the edit and helpful suggestions. I have linked to Queen Victoria. The reason that she is not mentioned is that there is no evidence that I could find that he ever performed dental work for her. I have also linked to all places and people in the article that are currently linkable. Also added citations in the lead, while adhering to MOS:LEADCITE. I have changed the word 'exclusive' to 'prestigious' which is backed now with a citation from a strong source. Some might regard this as peacock but it does show his social standing.

@Iainmacintyre:, thank you for changes. I have done few more minor tweaks. Only one thing remains: according to MOS:LEAD, the lede should summarize the body of the article. In my opinion, it should contain one/two sentences on early life followed by some sentences on his career and honours. I won't hold back approval for that but consider it a suggestion. - Hi, I came by to promote this, but I don't see Alexander Nasmyth being appointed Surgeon-Dentist to Queen Victoria in the source. I see that he treated the Prince Consort (I think you should add this to the article), and that he recommended him to the Queen. Do you have a more specific source? - @Yoninah: Many thanks for pointing that out. The citation should have been for reference 17 and I have corrected that. His treating the Prince Consort is implied rather than stated in the phrase 'charmed by his personality and skill' so I'm hesitant about including.
