Nice expansion, good sources. I am sorry I don't find Cremona in the book given, nor rice, please explain. To me, the ALT would be nothing new, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:50, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Maybe you looked at a different source? I see the information on rice and canals, mentioning the Province of Cremona, on page 145 of the source (ref 8). I think both hooks are interesting because the cultivation of rice is not what I would have expected to happen in northern Italy. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 16:59, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining, - I looked at ref 5, because of the 16th century, which I don't see in ref 8, - can you help me again. What did you think risotto is made from if not locally grown rice? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:55, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

- That's ref 5: "By 1530, a network of ancillary canals and waterways covered the Lombardy Plain from Milan to Pavia." If you don't find that convincing, lets just go with ALT1. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:23, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
