Penney de Jager edit

Penney de Jager, 1970
Penney de Jager, 1970
  • ... that Dutch dancer and choreographer Penney de Jager appeared in Playboy twice, the last time at age 60?

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: There is not a need to check for plagiarism as all the sources are Dutch, a language that I am not good with though "jarige" may indicate year. As most of these are newspapers, they all seem like good sources though. Rather than letting it all pass, I'll get a second opinion to see if its okay, which I hope it will. • Wow, an actual template for the checks! Looks complicated. "Jarige" is an adjective meaning "person having a birthday"--I don't see immediately where that pops up. I'll give you my COI opinion and say that the sources are decent enough: some are better than others. EventBranche.nl is a website run by a professional organization and it's the weakest source of them all, but what it verifies is a very basic fact. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 21:12, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Whilst there is nothing wrong with the cite or the articles itself, I requested a second opinion to check if its okay with my decision to pass this because I've never reviewed an article that is not entirely made of sources that is of a different languages and I want to stay away from Google Translate. I'll pass this if its okay. Donnie Park (talk) 23:14, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
  • There's a couple Dutch speakers around. I don't know how Crisco 1492's Dutch is these days. The Banner can offer you an opinion too, and I know for a fact that he used to have the hots for Penney. (I did too, of course.) Drmies (talk) 03:35, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
  • @Donnie Park: It's fine to AGF (the grey tick) or to check the online references with Google Translate to see if the gist of it is supported. @Drmies, sadly I still haven't had time to enrol in any courses. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 03:45, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
  • LOL, I know the showballet but I think you overestimate my age.
  • But I have to be harsh about the sources and shoot down the DYK. What the article in fact states is that Patricia Paay posed naked for Playboy at age 60. Penny de Jager, at that time 62 (2010), likes to pose again as she did in 1985. No evidence that she really did pose a second time. The Banner talk 10:57, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Shoot User:The Banner, you are absolutely correct. Thanks! What a misreading... Anyway, I'll get back to this shortly, to fix this disaster. Thanks again Banner... Drmies (talk) 14:26, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Alright, I struck that hook, which was the result of a fairly inexplicable misreading of that article. Thanks again to The Banner--who possibly had the hots for Patricia Paay just like I did. Let's see about a new one:
  • ALT1 ... that Penney de Jager rose to fame in the 1970s as a dancer/choreographer and in 2014 was knighted for promoting dance among the elderly? Drmies (talk) 03:58, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
  • The Banner, what do you think? Drmies (talk) 16:58, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
    • I had a go at shortening the existing hook, to make her popularity seem more heightened compared to how the original hook made out to be, this is how I done it. What do you think?
    • ALT1.1 ... that the 1970s dancer/choreographer Penney de Jager (pictured) was knighted for promoting dance among the elderly? Donnie Park (talk) 17:17, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
  • That's better, thanks Donnie Park. As far as I'm concerned that's a minor tweak and should be uncontroversial; BlueMoonset, do you agree? Drmies (talk) 17:28, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
  • I agree that ALT1.1 is a minor tweak of and is basically the equivalent of ALT1 (minus the "rose to fame" clause), so Donnie Park should be able to review them both; he hasn't yet reviewed either hook, though. I've added a required space to both. BlueMoonset (talk) 08:06, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
  • BlueMoonsetDrmies Whilst I only checked the source citing the hook via Google Translate since it is assumed okay, so I'll give it a AGF pass. One more thing, in the Netherlands, don't they call it a damehood for women like they do in the UK. Donnie Park (talk) 21:54, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
  • I'll retract that since I realised they still call it a knighthood anywhere. Donnie Park (talk) 13:01, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
