Line the Label edit

  • ... that so many people wanted a Line the Label jacket, the company's server crashed? Source: "The surge in interest in the coat caused the style to quickly sell out and crashed the Toronto-based knitwear label’s website in some parts of the world, including in London." [1]
    • ALT1:... that Line the Label has become internationally famous after being endorsed by Meghan Markle? Source: "Meghan Markle wears a coat by Canadian brand Line the Label as she poses with Prince Harry" [2]

  • Comment: Note: article is currently at AfD; nomination will have to be cancelled if that closes against keeping AfD has now closed as “keep”. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:16, 9 December 2017 (UTC)

  • Size (just!) and date check out OK. References are suitable and relable. AfD closed keep, no notability concerns. QPQ done. Earwig's tool indicates no copyplag concerns. Note: added User:Gidonb to credits as he did a fair bit of cleanup work. Good to go. - The Bushranger One ping only 06:31, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but find ALT1 too promotional. What do you think about:
  • ALT2a: ... that Canadian fashion brand Line the Label renamed its white jacket "The Meghan" after Meghan Markle wore it to announce her engagement to Prince Harry? Yoninah (talk) 23:56, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
ALT2 looks too long to fit on the main page. What's wrong with the original hook? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:11, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
@Ritchie333: The hook size limit is 200 characters, and ALT2 is 151 characters. - The Bushranger One ping only 10:15, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
@Ritchie333: aside from the character count, which is a normal length, there has been a push for longer hooks on the main page, since the column always runs shorter than OTD. Yoninah (talk) 10:40, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
I still think the "server crashed" hook is more interesting; that's why it was my first choice. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:56, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
I hear you. But it reminds me of companies selling out their stock all the time when Kate Middleton wears something. Still, I'm willing to go with it if everyone else is in agreement. Yoninah (talk) 14:29, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
