Reconstruction of a lamellenhelm from Niederstotzingen
  • ... that of the three main types of helmets that proliferated in early medieval Europe, the lamellenhelm (example pictured) was the only one derived from eastern, rather than Roman, examples? Tweddle 1992, p.1083: "The distribution of the Lamellenhelme suggests an origin in south-eastern Europe, and Steuer has suggested that the type was associated with mounted nomads, in particular the Avars (Steuer 1987, 197). ... Interesting, on few but good sources, no copyvio obvious. The image is licensed and almost a must. Please decide Lamellenhelm vs. lamellenhelm, consistently. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:13, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, Gerda Arendt. Do you mean lamellenhelm vs. lamellenhelme? Is not the former singular (one lamellenhelm), and the latter plural (two lamellenhelme)? If so, why would it not be proper to use both, depending on context? --Usernameunique (talk) 22:28, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
No, I mean that the image caption is uc, and the hook is lc. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:37, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
Whoops. Fixed. --Usernameunique (talk) 22:53, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
