Katskhi pillar edit

Katskhi pillar

  • Interesting article. Date and length fine. Can't assess for copyvios because the main source is Georgian (ref 1), as is ref 4 and ref 3, with its micro text. AGF. Source 2 in English, OK, and 5 in French, OK. The last sentence in the first section and the second to last sentence in the third, last section are essentially identical and should be reworked. Have you had five previous DYK nominations? If so, you need to review an article. Also, the facts in the hook need to have inline citations in the article. The facts in your hook appear to be primarily in your first and second paragraphs. Your first paragraph doesn't have any inline citations. Also, I would recommend that you utilize some of the wording from your hook in your article, including the 40m conversion to feet and "early medieval," even though you did mention the centuries, and "early medieval" is used but in connection with the base of the pillar. Also, it was unclear from the article as to where the new church of Simeon Stylites is located. It is described as at the base of the church. Did you mean at the base of the pillar? The photo for the hook is fabulous. Anne (talk) 02:52, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Anne, many thanks for very useful suggestions. I've implemented appropriate changes. I don't think that I have had five previous DYK nominations. I mean several articles written/expanded by me have been nominated, but not by me. Unfortunately, there are very few, if any, academic English-language sources on the pillar and I've intentionally avoided using travel guides. Regards,--KoberTalk 06:07, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Looks like you're all set. It would be great if this photo could be used for DYK! Anne (talk) 22:18, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
