Interesting hooks about an interesting woman, few but good sources. Please give us a bit more detail about her education, otherwise she plays the piano out of the blue ;) - Please specify Church of England , seems not trivial for the general readership. Please specify if the millinery business was run by him (otherwise - this being her article - I would assume by her). - Needless to say, playing the piano myself, I am most interested in ALT1 which also provides historic background. Can we we deduct from "the second in Red River"[1] "the province's second"? [2] has "in the settlement". - If you want to pursue the rumour thing, perhaps say that she successfully appealed? - ALT2 means nothing to people who don't know Riel. All the source says about her education is that it was a good one, which isn't too informative.

As the article says, she started the business, but he later ruined it.
"Second in Red River" can be assumed to be "second in Manitoba", but for clarity I have amended the hook.
Would rather not say that as it is unlikely that she did so
