  • Comment: This article is a sub-article of the Filipino American article, spun out in 2012. It was nominated for GA Review on 1 May 2018, on 28 March 2019 the article was promoted to GA. I did not become aware of this until yesterday, 23 April 2019, at which point I added the GA icon to the article, which had not yet been added by Legobot (talk · contribs). Therefore, even though it has been more than 7 days since it was promoted, I would like that promotion date to be considered for DYK purposes to be 23 April, not 28 March, per WP:IAR. Article should meet all requirements set forth in WP:DYK having passed a GAN. I am including Castncoot (talk · contribs) to this nomination, as the user has written 5.8% of the current article. None of the hooks exceed 200 characters, and sources for the hooks are provided; if these are unsatisfactory, let me know so I can write more. Image being suggested is utilized in the article, and is in the public domain. I have completed QPQ by being an additional reviewer for the Dolo hospital airstrike nomination; see the diff here.

I'm going to review, and I am willing to accept the date thing as it happened. If you want to include the image - which I don't know is a good idea - you will have to say pictured somewhere in a hook, after the term pictured. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:11, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Substantial article, on plenty of sources, - a bit surprised that some are combined under one number. Offline sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. I doubt that the image shows well in small size, and that it illustrates a hook well, but will listen. It's licensed. I would not pipe to "population of Filipinos", because it misses American, nor a specific place in Louisiana to the whole place. - I'd prefer ALT1. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:25, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
More than 1 in 5 Filipino Americans are Multiracial Americans

Because of MOS:NOETHNICGALLERIES it is often difficult to include any images of individuals or groups of individuals that fall within the scope of the article at all in an article about an ethnicity or nationality, specifically in the lead section (to include an infobox). There are a few other images that can be included, specifically not in the lead section. Perhaps
this image would be better, as at least one individual is a multiracial FilAm, if hook ALT1 is chosen?
Why was ALT3 struck? Is this a well known fact, or not hooky enough?
ALT5:... that the plurality population of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands are Filipino Americans? Source: Office of Insular Affairs
As it is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in the United States, a hook about this article would be fitting to be on the main page!--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 02:32, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
I agree that it should appear this month. The second image is better, but please connect it to a hook. I usually end a review with leaving only one hook without strike, to make life easier for the promoter, but sometimes leave a choice, - not a choice of five though, only a choice of the best. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:00, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Ah I see, so nothing against California; gotcha! Let me change the caption to the image of the younger FilAm musicians, to make it more relate-able to ALT1.--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 00:37, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
