This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are sourced inline and either hook could be used. The image is appropriately licensed, the article is neutral, and neither Earwig nor I could detect any copyright issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:44, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- The hook is very catchy but it seems you're leaving something out when you just identify them as klezmer musicians. Your article, and the sources, says they also played other things. Yoninah (talk) 21:25, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks Yoninah. I kept it to klezmer in the interest of brevity and because it's a genre far enough off from Ethio-jazz to make an interesting hook. If klezmer alone isn't enough, we can try:
- ALT2: ... that Ethiopian music group Debo Band was founded by a group of amateur klezmer musicians who played circus tunes?
- ALT3: ... that amateur klezmer/circus musicians founded Ethiopian music group Debo Band?
- ALT4: ... that Debo Band was founded by amateur Klezmer, Balkan, and circus musicians who learned to play Ethiopian jazz?

- I agree that shorter is better, but in looking at the sources for this line, it appears you cobbled together two sources, one that says they were klezmer/Balkan musicians and the other that they were klezmer and "post-punk circus performers". Circus music is not the same thing as post-punk. Perhaps you could edit/tighten the wording in the article and a hook will come out of it. Yoninah (talk) 20:16, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- Indeed Yoninah, circus music predates punk by about 1,000 years, and post-punk by 1,001. I'd opt for the original hook—klezmer—or just say circus, as in:
- ALT5: ... that Ethiopian music group Debo Band was founded by amateur circus musicians?
