Dah Parvatiya

edit

Da Parvatiya door frame of a Shiva temple

  • ... that during archaeological excavations in Dah Parvatiya in 1924 a sixth century antiquity unearthed is in the form of a stone door frame (pictured) with extensive carvings?

5x expanded by Nvvchar (talk). Self nominated at 01:28, 6 March 2015 (UTC).

  • Spelling mistake, the word you want here is antiquity (an object), not antiquary (a person who studies the objects).--KTo288 (talk) 10:25, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes, You are right. I have corrected the spelling. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 09:31, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Does not appear to be eligible. Criteria says within 7 days has been expanded. Article was at 681 char 27 September 2014‎. Current update began 5 March 2015‎, and concluded 7 March 2015‎ at which point it was 7641 char, exceeding 5X expansion, but it was not nominated until 1 April, 2015 and the only edit that occurred between 7 March and 1 April was to make the correction referenced above to correct a spelling error. Sorry, nom date appears to be March 6 so IS eligible. I read the dates wrong. Expansion was more than 5x. Does not appear to have close paraphrasing, is neutral and has in-line citations. QPQ is completed. Photograph appears to be free use. Hook is within length guides and interesting, made me go back and re-read the article to discover my error. However, there are some awkward statements that need to be corrected and the hook needs to appear in the article:
  • located to the west of Tezpur near civil station ... near what civil station?
  • Under History "The antiquaries found at the Dah Parvatiya" ... people weren't found. Should be antiquities.
  • "remains of Gupta period temple got exposed" ... didn't they become exposed?
  • "shown with divine halo" ... multiple figures are under one halo? Shouldn't it be divine halos?
  • "depiction of man playing the flute, and with a hooded snake feature above its head" ... above his head?
The hook, is not stated directly in the article, but different pieces of it occur in the article. There was a survey done in 1924, the door jamb does have characters on it and is supposedly dated to the 6th century. Could you make the hook part of the article in one statement? The only reference I see that verifies all parts of the hook 1924 excavation, 6th century, door frame with characters is reference #1.
  • Thanks for the review. I have done all the suggested corrections. Civil Station is the name of a place in Tezpur. Since there is some ambiguity about the place, I have deleted the word. I have now included the entire text of the hook in the lead referenced to #1.--Nvvchar. 01:24, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes, looks GTG now. Thank you! SusunW (talk) 12:36, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
