What makes this a reliable source? The second source from the New York Daily News does confirm the claim as well as the third source from The Ring magazine. Also why isn't the NY Yankess wikilink in the hook? Also the hook violates PCUR (provide context to the uniformed reader) what is a third baseman? jona(talk) 00:38, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- As to what makes the Algemeiner an RS, as the WP article on it and a review of its website reveal, it is a well-established 43-year-old reliable, third-party, published newspaper with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy as it has been quoted by a long line of RSs in turn, and is referenced or cited in hundreds of wp articles.
- Furthermore, the New York Daily News does as you say confirm the claim. It states: "Seldin - named after former Yankees third basemen Clete Boyer".
- And the third source does as you say support the claim. It states: "Seldin, 27, is as New York as they come, having been named after Clete Boyer, the New York Yankees third baseman during the late 1950s to mid-‘60s ..."
- I didn't link via inline "The New York Yankees" per wp:overlink, because of my judgment that the name would be understood by most readers in context. And per wp:overlink, I didn't want the hook to contain "an excessive number of links, making it difficult to identify links likely to aid the reader's understanding significantly."

- I didn't see an article for it on Wikipedia and the website didn't look professional, that's the reason why I brought the issue up. After reading this and seeing that it has established itself on articles here, the source is fine. I get what you're saying about the concern on overlinking, the Yankees are way more known than its baseball terminology, which is fine that you chose not to link the team. Everything else checks out fine, the article has a decent size of readable prose and is not a stub. There are no CP and neutrality issues in regards to the article. I don't see any copy-vio or plagiarism with the article. The article was created by the nominator on February 11 and was nominated the following day (however, the article continued to be edited by the nominator who expanded its contents and added sources on the 13th). It is ready to go
