Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 edit

Conchita Wurst performing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014

Improved to Good Article status by Sims2aholic8 (talk). Self-nominated at 23:25, 25 June 2015 (UTC).

  • Article passed GA yesterday. The hook is verifiable to the official Eurovision website. No obvious copyvios from the standard script check. A good one for LGBT month via the obvious Wurst connection. I've copyedited the hook slightly as the source is a bit vague about what part of the content Wurst was actually involved with in 2012. • @Sims2aholic8: your original featured hook looked fine to me, and I didn't see anything "vague" about it. Not sure why the reviewer decided upon themselves to copyedit the wording. I'm sure that WP:TPO procedure (even though this is not a talk page) is to provide an ALT2 suggestion, rather than altering someone else's comments? Wes Mouse | T@lk 00:23, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Well I would say that with a new reviewer it would help to start things anew with this, so that would probably be best. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 00:43, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
Nominated within 5 days of receiving GA. New enough, long enough, well referenced, neutrally written, no close paraphrasing seen. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYKs. Image is freely licensed. However, I have a question about the hook. In the lead, like the hook, you said she "attempted to represent Austria", but in the body text, you say she "represented Austria". Which is it? The inline cite to footnote 13 says nothing about "attempting". I changed the lead to "represented Austria", as in the body text; please change that back if it's incorrect. I've changed back the lead because she didn't represent Austria in 2012. She competed in a contest to find the representative for Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, but came 2nd to another act. Therefore she didn't compete in the main Eurovision. I'm not entirely sure where you see written in the body text that she "represented Austria" in 2012, if you can point that out to me that'd be helpful. • OK, I understand. Sorry about the confusion. ALT2 hook refs verified and cited inline. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 09:47, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
