Albany Institute of History & Art

  • ... that attendance at meetings of New York's Albany Institute (pictured) declined in the 1830s because members were bored by papers presented by the group's meteorologist?

Created/expanded by Daniel Case (talk). Self nom at 06:54, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

  • 5x expansion verified. Age, length, referencing all in place. The first hook is great and hook ref is verified. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 10:25, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

I am concerned that some of the structures and phrasings in this article are too close to those used by the sources. Compare for example "focused on preparing the museum for the next century" with "focuses AIHA on preparing for the 21st century", or "New members joined, and the focus of the organization widened from the natural sciences to a more general learned society" with "Many new members join, which gradually leads to a change in the focus from a scientific to a general learned society", or "the show was a critical and commercial success that boosted civic pride" with "The show is an artistic, financial and popular success that boosts civic pride" among others.  Done Fixed all three. That's what I get for discovering how extensive the institute's online history was after I'd written almost the whole section and doing it in a hurry. Although I think a fair amount of this falls under "limited ways to say the same thing", especially when we're talking about isolated sentences as opposed to entire grafs.

Thanks for the timely notification about this. Daniel Case (talk) 03:15, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

  • After re-check (and DC's changes from above), everything now checks out. This is ready for move to a prep area. Lord Roem (talk) 21:41, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
