Airports Act 1986 edit

Created by The C of E (talk). Self-nominated at 14:21, 15 March 2018 (UTC).

  • Date and length OK. No policy violations. Hook is short enough. Image appears to meet public domain requirements (not original enough to be eligible for copyright). QPQ done by nominator. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hirolovesswords (talkcontribs)
  • @The C of E: whether we do or don't use the image, how is this interesting to a broad audience? The hook also looks like alphabet soup. Yoninah (talk) 17:48, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Because BAA is a recognisable name in aviation, it works better with the image yes but there is also the fact that the government is passing a law to create a private company. I will ask @Hirolovesswords: if they can restore the tick please. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 18:58, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
  • But it's not recognizable to me, or to any casual readers outside England, I daresay. Yoninah (talk) 00:27, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Do you have any other suggestions for a hook? I concur with Yoninah that the hook seems uninteresting; as such, I have struck it. Perhaps there is information out there about the organization that's quirkier and can be added to the article. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:50, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
ALT1... that the Airports Act 1986 created BAA (logo pictured) from a public aviation authority into a private company? @Narutolovehinata5: The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 07:00, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
  • The grammar in ALT1 doesn't make sense; one doesn't "create" something "from ... into". Do you mean:
  • ALT2a: ... that the Airports Act 1986 turned BAA (logo pictured) from a public aviation authority into a private company?
  • That works, I guess, though I personally don't find it clickworthy. Yoninah (talk) 16:23, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Alt 1 Hook is short enough, accurate, cited, & neutral - Hirolovesswords (talk) 12:13, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
