Pokemon? edit

Is there really any reason to mention/link to pokemon which "could be said" to relate to the subject? Pokemon is not so universally relevant as to necessitate a place in any article that could conceivably contain it.

Unrelated Articles edit

The links to Kar and Khara lead to unrelated articles. Heh, not sure if someone's ever going to write the ones for these, but perhaps they shouldn't link if they don't link to what you expect.

Picture edit

Would it be possible to add a picture of this bird, preferably similar to the image on the German version of this page, or one depicting the mythical banquet at the end of the world.66.24.229.233 00:14, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

sources edit

can someone point toward sources for anything in this article?--Andymussell 23:26, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You mean stuff like verses from the Bible/Torah? Yeah, I'd appreciate stuff like that, too. I don't think I've ever even heard of the Ziz before. Zillakilla 22:25, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: sources edit

Well... The Bible never really speaks of the Ziz, and neither does the Torah, as the Torah is part of the Bible. There is probably apocryphal lit. talking about the Ziz, however if there is, it is currently unknown to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimmy10291 (talkcontribs) 01:02, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

According to the german article, David Kimchi (1160-1235) described it briefly in a commentary of Psalm 50,11 and Yehuda Leib Karmenitz wrote an essay :"Ziz Shadai" in 1600.125.225.66.199 (talk) 14:09, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

???? edit

Is it me or the association of both terms "arab" and "marauding" reveal a biassed and personal reflexion? In that case, may we discuss the pertinence of such telling in an article devoted to knowledge. Hope I did'nt hurt anyone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.161.244.29 (talk) 22:25, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I removed the reference to marauding arabs. Daf (talk) 00:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cliff of Ziz edit

Removed the sentence about the cliff of Ziz. It might need its own article. --Gunnora (talk) 18:46, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

There is also the cliff of Ziz, the pass by which the horde of Moabites, Ammonites and Mehunim made their way up from the shores of the Dead Sea to the wilderness of Judah near Tekoa. (2 Chronicles 20:16) only; comp. 2 Chr 20:20 It was the pass of Ein Gedi.

Fun fact? edit

"Behemoth, Leviathan and Ziz were traditionally a favorite decoration motif for rabbis living in Germany."

What kind of random unsubstantiated factoid is that? And searching for this I found that apparently it said "Russia" before. Please, if this is not the made-up irrelevant nonsense it appears to be, do protest. Otherwise I'm going to remove this one of these days. --Mudd1 (talk) 10:47, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
