Infobox "Result"

edit

Please note that Template:Infobox military conflict#Parameters states against "result" that "this parameter may use one of two standard terms: "X victory" or "Inconclusive"." The infobox has been amended to reflect this. Please read the template "result" guidance in full before amending or reverting. It would probably be best to discuss any proposed change here first to seek consensus. Thanks. Gog the Mild (talk) 13:27, 22 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Issues

edit

Notability: I think there is enough notability in this article, as this is one of the last Zirid battles, and is one of the primary reasons Roger II captured Mahdia ending the Zirid dynasty, if this event had never occured for example, the Zirids might have had at chance at a few more years.

Lack of Focus: I believe this would come from the Aftermath section, in which i included the Capture of Mahdia, but it is not enough to be split into another article, as the event was more detailed, and i only included the important part of the events, after the Zirid Raid on Gabes, meaning its most likely not out of focus. For notability, I think the issue here is WP:SIGCOV (significant coverage) in reliable sources. Unless there are more detailed descriptions of the battle itself, this looks like it would be covered easily and more appropriately in a larger article such as Kingdom of Africa and Zirid dynasty (if it isn't already). Well, it is mentioned in the sources that gabes was razed by the Zirids, its governor executed, and its people massacred, then they paraded the Governor's body around Mahdia after they had cut off his private area
Id say its decently covered at best, maybe i could check if i can get extra info about the battle, and no it isnt included neither on the Zirid dynasty article or the Kingdom of Africa
