Island named after which Georg(e)? edit

Is it true that Zemlya Georga is named after Prince George of Hesse-Darmstadt? I read the info that the island was renamed after George Frederik Ernest Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Prince of Wales (the later King George V of Windsor) in 1897 (see this page), which I find much more believable. --87.123.98.175 (talk) 13:48, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
