Really? There is an old man who plays the yu outside my apartment every weekend. There are also plenty of videos on Youku of people playing this instrument. Tooironic (talk) 14:55, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
- I'm another who wonders why this article is written in the past tense. To quote the article at Shō_(instrument),
- A larger size of shō, called u (derived from the Chinese yu), is little used although some performers, such as Hiromi Yoshida, began to revive it in the late 20th century.
- This would suggest that the instrument, even if little used, is not dead -- and there is at least one recording of a modern Taiwanese concerto-style composition for yu and ensemble. -- Picapica (talk) 22:13, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
