Don't know Wiki standards that well, and not tied to Yasmeen herself, but consider the following:
Her father is a Muslim 'imam' or 'cleric' hailing
One wouldn't use quotes around either word, grammatically. That's for talking about the word qua word itself. In this case, we're just saying her dad is an imam AKA cleric. If I am talking about the word "cleric", I use quotes around it. If my friend has completed the requirements to be a cleric, he's now a cleric. In one of Yasmeen Ghauri's U Tube taping she clearly mentions in her voice that she is half Indian and half German. Why are we then making her out to be half Pakistani Muslim?? Recently a user kept changing the expression Canadian model to Pakistani-Canadian model. As there is no indication and no source that would support the claim of Ghauri being also a Pakistani citizen, I had to correct this per WP:SOURCE and WP:LEAD. As this could also be a misunderstandig, i. e. confusing nationality/citizenship with ethnicity, it should be made clear that in the lead we usually mention a person's nationality/citizenship, not her ethnicity (see WP:MOSBIO#Opening_paragraph for more information on the subject). Also in this case, Ghauri's ethnicity wouldn't be certain, because she has a father from Pakistan, and a mother from Germany. We don't even know whether she sees herself as a Pakistani Canadian or a German Canadian. So let's try and stick to the facts and sources that are currently available. --Catgut (talk) 17:08, 6 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
