LAUNCH Redirect edit

Is ":For other uses of the word launch, see launch. This page is specifically for the Yahoo! Music service." necessary? What are the chances someone would type "launchcast" when they meant to seek "launch" ? AndrewMrse

  • I put the message back, because LAUNCH redirects to this page. - EurekaLott 14:36, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Move the Article to a New Name!!! edit

I actually demand it. Even if Yahoo didn't buy Launch, this article should not be named "LAUNCHcast". That is the name of its RADIO serivce (including the DIY radio station). The whole site is Launch.com, and since Yahoo!'s purchase, Yahoo! Music. Someone please move it, or I will. --Jw21/PenaltyKillahtalkGO'NUCKSGO 08:31, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, "demanding" anything probably isn't a good idea (it sounds too much like the annoying stuff lawyers do), but you have a point. Yahoo Music is the current name of it, though the article covers a number of earlier stages in its history including the original entertainment diskmagazine "Launch". *Dan T.* 17:26, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
There was a few other requests for this article's name to be changed, btw. But sorry about the rudeness. I just don't think an article's name should be rooted to history. --Jw21/PenaltyKillahtalkGO'NUCKSGO!! 15:59, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The service is still called LAUNCHcast, and that was the original intent of this article. LAUNCHcast is a radio product within Yahoo! Music. The latter also provides music videos, news, artist information, original programming, and many other non-radio features. I recommend a new article be created focused around Yahoo! Music, which links to this article, focused on LAUNCHcast Radio —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.167.220.84 (talk) 05:18, 3 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Availability on Firefox edit

It is quite easily possible. All you need is Internet Explorer and the "IE Tab" plugin for Firefox. WORKS PERFECTLY! --Earth KING 22:51, 15 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's not the same thing as being compatible with Firefox. The plugin opens a copy of IE within a Firefox tab; you are running the service in IE, not Firefox. 12.22.250.4 21:34, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Videos edit

You can skip advertising on Launch Videos.

Question edit

I heard that with Napster, if you cancel your account, your songs won't work anymore. Is it the same with Yahoo! Music?

This is the wrong place to ask —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.158.222.93 (talk) 04:00, 16 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

AdMute alternative edit

I know a free and easy alternative to AdMute: turn the volume off. Simply turn your speakers down or mute your computer volume. It's that simple, people. 67.188.172.165 04:07, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

LAUNCHcast is now Yahoo! Music edit

LAUNCHcast is now Yahoo! Music I think the article should be renamed, if there's no oppostion, I think somone should do that, I'm not so confident with Wikipedia renaming.

RadicalSatDude 21:51, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not anymore, or so it seems. I'm wondering if I will be able to still listen to my station, and how...I use Y! Jukebox 2. Bob the Wikipedian (talkcontribs) 00:32, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Consider it done. It's been renamed Yahoo! Music Radio. Mbrstooge (talk) 03:08, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ads edit

There are ads next to the radio display now. 67.188.172.165 21:28, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Firefox edit

Works fine with this: http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx installed. Microsoft fixed it, not Yahoo... --62.77.181.1 18:52, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Skipping edit

Despite the "unlimited skipping" promotion, I haven't had a problem with skipping. Anyone else having this? 67.188.172.165 05:25, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Australia? edit

The article still says that LAUNCHCast is available on the Australia site under a new name... But I have been to the site and can not find it anywhere. has it been removed? If so, I think the article should reflect that. Mkid1 (talk) 14:45, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was for a short time, but like all other international versions, it has been dismantled after the relaunch of the new Yahoo! Music pages. Mbrstooge (talk) 03:09, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
