Talk:X-ray microtomography

Latest comment: 7 years ago by MichaelSchoenitzer in topic Example

These scanners are not actually used only for medical. They are also used for microfossils, biomedical, foods seeds… anything none-destructive. But because of the large scans the X-ray doses gets also very high.

A different category would be needed for this.(see nanotomography)

In the future I will add scan samples to show what these machines can do. :-) Some samples are very impressive.

Examples edit

In the section that describe examples, the dimensions should be used carefully. For example the following statement

E.g. composite material with glass fibers 10 to 12 micrometres in diameter

gives misleading figures. There is no reason why a microCT would not be able to scan a composite with 9 or 13 um thick glass fibers. --ondra (talk) 13:26, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on X-ray microtomography. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it.
