Is "wireless" an euphemism for "radio"?
It seems that this article deals only with radio-based systems, even though many other wireless methods of communications exist, such as optical, including broadcasting IR (which was even a part or the 801.11 standard) and fiberoptical, or ultrasonic. Is it a defective terminology (like "horseless carriage"), or the article needs some expansion to at least mention these other variants? — Mikhail Ryazanov (talk) 00:32, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- This article is only about wireless lans, the parent article wireless networks at least mentions the other types of data links.
- But yeah, you could expand it.GliderMaven (talk) 00:54, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
