September 2006 edit

What happened to the notable alumni section? Perhaps someone should petition the school archivist to recompile that. Is it true that Dr. Richard Alpert is an alumnus? I was told this, but could not find support for it online or otherwise.

In general, I think the "The Campus" section is poorly constructed. Specifically, I am not sure what the author was talking about when they wrote: "Other classes, especially electives, are held in parts of various dormitories and other buildings." The only buildings on campus that regularly hold classes are the Schoolhouse, the Library, the science/theater building, the Chapel, and the Reed Campus Center. Occasionally a class will be held in the College Counseling building but these are strictly for wheelchair accessibility and testing. Additionally, I have never heard of a class being held in a dormitory. Jamesym 02:25, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree that the notable alumni section appears to have some errors. According to his own page, Col. Sanders dropped out of school after 7th grade. And no, Michael Jordan did not go to Williston. Since I'm 2 years younger than he is, and I did go to Williston, I'm pretty confident about that one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.251.134.5 (talk) 19:34, 1 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wildcat edit

I am fixing the "Wildcat" links per WP:DPL. Noticing from earlier edits that most schools / universities using the word "wildcat" actually had a bobcat, i assumed that this what is meant here too, and i therefor edited the link that way. If this was wrong, please see Wildcat (disambiguation) for the correct link, and edit the links in this article accordingly. - - 'twsx'talk'cont' 13:38, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Campus Life" was written poorly... edit

"Campus Life" was written poorly. It sounded like an advertisement. I didn't wish to mark it as blatant advertising, so I fixed the section. Now, it has a more neutral tone, and isn't trying to make Williston's grounds sound like they were spawned from beauty itself. Also, I fixed what the user above commented on. Honestly, no classes take place in the dormitories. Never, in any circumstance, have I ever seen that happen, or even heard about it. It just doesn't happen. I don't know where the user found that information, but it is wrong and I have confirmed it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fishdert (talkcontribs) 11:31, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Sealsmall.jpg edit

Image:Sealsmall.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
