Cleanup edit

This page was a disaster. A bunch of badly sourced ax-grinding stuff was added starting in December. I reverted to before then (to this version, and found a boatload of unsourced promotional content.

I've now stripped this down to what the existing sources supported, and added a recent source from Japan Times.

We need to build back the article from high quality independent, secondary sources, being mindful of NPOV especially with regard to WEIGHT and RECENTISM.

Please do not add content sourced to low quality blogs and the like. Jytdog (talk) 18:56, 23 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm just wondering where the picture came from personally. GMGtalk 18:58, 23 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

sourcing edit

I'd like to hear everyone's views on summarizing (and citing) the following Japanese sources in this article:

And two more tabloid-esque articles which are nonetheless from generally reliable sources:

Here are mine
  1. we have to build the article from nothing. Starting with very recent sources focused on the recent scandal is a perfect path to creating a BLP violating article. You have been notified of the discretionary sanctions on BLP topics.
  2. this is English WP; while there is no bar to using non-English sources, there is no particular reason to reach for them first, as the foundation for the whole article.
  3. WP articles should be built from high quality, independent, secondary sources. You have given no reason why we should be reaching for tabloids at all. Jytdog (talk) 21:08, 23 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Per WP-articles the three first seems regular newspapers, so they should be ok as sources, but of course if equal english ones exist that is prefered. While google translate is not useless here, it´s not good enough to add material to the article, "horror blown baroness" etc, so a japanese-speaker is needed.
