Personal Information Management (PIM)is a significant and growing field. Two events that coalesced the field were a 2005 NSF workshop organized by Jones in 2005 and his 2007 book, which continues to be cited more every year than subsequent books in the area. His Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST) survey in 2007 has several hundred citations and is cited more every year than a subsequent ARIST survey with the same title by another recognized leader, showing his influence. When we both worked at MCC in the 80s he was already focused on it with his published work on implementing ideas of Vannevar Bush. I did not work on it with him but reviewed some of his book manuscripts decades later as our paths continued to cross. Jgrudin (talk) 20:01, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

I made significant changes following the constructive advice of two editors. The first helped by identifying additional citations of Jones's work and added a Google Scholar page. The second editor suggested organizational changes which now seems more to the point and easily skimmed. In addition, a Wikipedia article I was unaware of is now mentioned, written from 2010-2017 by several people, describing one of Jones's early systems. Regarding the specific flags: I haven't seen a challenge to the article's neutrality. Additional citations have been added as has a Google Scholar appraisal. I don't believe there are any "self-published" references, although there are references to Jones's books published by respected publishers. The article has been shortened, divided into two sections, and starts by getting directly to the point to aid someone skimming the article.
