Newspaper clipping of obituary edit

I removed an apparent transcription of a "newspaper clipping of his obituary in a book" here, as a possible copyvio. But it's from a long time ago, i.e. about 113 years, and difficult to tell without knowing either the newspaper or the book. Well beyond the reach of Earwig's Copyvio Detector, I suspect. Perhaps User:Diannaa could advise. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:38, 1 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I am not going to do revision deletion, since it was marked as a quotation. Besides it says he "died yesterday" so was therefore published in 1905. Regardless, it's inappropriate to paste in large quotations. More better to write our own prose.— Diannaa (talk) 22:06, 1 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, much more betterer, of course. He died in 1908, but no difference I guess. Yes, it was a quote, but had no attribution whatsoever. Perhaps that doesn't matter. I was wondering if the book might have violated the newspaper's copyright. We might never know which book it was. Maybe we shouldn't care. Thanks for looking.
