Addressing possible COI edit

Hello Guglielmoebreo, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I wanted to ask whether you have any conflict of interest with the subject of this article because your edit history suggests that you are a WP:SPA. Basically, do you know this person in real life or do you work with or for this person. You don't have to dox yourself, but a simple "yes I have a personal or professional connection to the subject" or "no I do not" will suffice. TipsyElephant (talk) 00:31, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

AfC source analysis edit

These are the best references that I see currently cited in the draft and my assessment of whether they contribute to notability.

Source analysis
Source Independent? Significant? Reliable? Counts to GNG?
Washington City Paper Yes Maybe, it looks like there is some quoting here and there and it seems to be focused on the podcast a bit, but overall it's got some decent coverage. Maybe, it looks like it's a local alt-weekly publication that recently changed management. Their submission guide for freelance writers makes me think their editorial policy are pretty decent. It also looks like the author joined the staff as an editor shortly before writing the piece. Maybe, it's not a full profile piece in the NYT, but it's not bad.
Washington Blade Yes Not bad, it's focused on his work on the podcast. Maybe, this appears to be a local newspaper and I don't see any editorial policies or list of staff. There is a byline, but there isn't any information about the author other than their name. Googling the name along with the name of the publication brings up the person's instagram, which says he is a contributor not a staff member. Maybe, but likely not reliable.
Washingtonian Yes Yes, seems like a decent piece Yes, I don't see much in the way of editorial policies, but it's a more well known source and the author is an editorial fellow. Yes
The Eagle Yes Yes Maybe, student news is generally less reliable, but as far as student newspapers go this is a pretty good one. It's well established and appears to be transparent about how the paper is run and they have some pretty decent editorial policies. Maybe, student news isn't the best but as far as student news goes this is pretty good.
Voyage LA Interviews don't count as independent sources Yes Maybe, I don't see a byline or a list of staff. The editorial policies are pretty lacking as well. No, it's not a terrible source, but it doesn't help with notability.

If any more decent sources are found it would help me make the decision as to whether this should be accepted to mainspace. TipsyElephant (talk) 01:43, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I brought this to RSN for discussion: Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_426#Reliability_of_Washington_City_Paper,_Washington_Blade,_and_Washingtonian. The responses seemed fairly mixed with a focus on whether these are local sources and whether local sources contribute to notability. TipsyElephant (talk) 17:04, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
