Removal of Stub? edit

Myself and several others have done some major expansion work, and I'm asking if we should now remove the stub? Martorius 00:15, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Remove. --Darwinek 21:45, 10 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Remove: It's got sufficient content for a standalone article. By the way, should be merge the "After the War" section with the WWII section? There's little point in having a separate section for just one line. --Scottie theNerd 03:48, 20 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Medals edit

I do not remember Richard Winters ever being awarded a Silver Star. DocYako 00:03, August 3 2009 (UTC} —Preceding undated comment added 04:04, 3 August 2009 (UTC).Reply

Nickname edit

Yes, we've all seen the miniseries so we know he was "Wild Bill" Guarniere. His nickname is in the infobox, but should not be in the first reference. Look at another famous "Wild Bill" who served in the military, William Joseph Donovan, head of the OSS. He is not called "Wild Bill" in first reference, and he was famous for that. Let's show this man the dignity and respect that he deserves. Thanks to all for cooperating. MajorStovall (talk) 16:36, 10 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Year of Birth edit

On the page:

"About Sergeant Guarnere"

They have:

"William J. Guarnere was born on April 28th, 1922."

In the book: Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends: Two WWII Paratroopers from the Original Band of Brothers Tell Their Story. By William J. Guarnere and Edward J. Heffron, with Robyn Post

On page 87, it says:

"Our [Heffron] birthdays were eighteen days apart — he was born April 28, 1923"

Which is wrong and which is right?

Thanks......

2) 1923 -- His military enlistment records also say 1923.
3) 1923 -- He faked his age to get into the Citizens Military Training Camp in the summer 1938 at age 15 (which = 1923).

Year of Graduation edit

If he went to work at the tank factory after Pearl Harbor, and he then switched to night shift so he could go back to school, how did he graduate in 1941? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.32.103.132 (talk) 03:58, 20 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Bronze Statue with Edward 'Babe' Heffron edit

Someone better might want to add that, at some point after Guarnere's death, a bronze statue of him was added next to the one of Edward 'Babe' Heffron. Fitting, I think. https://southphillyreview.com/2019/11/12/sculpture-of-veteran-william-wild-bill-guarnere-unveiled-on-2nd-street/ 205.143.138.40 (talk) 13:40, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
