The ancestry of William Floyd is is only partly correct in that His Great Grandfather was one of three brothers that settled in and near Jamestown Virginia starting with Nathaniel Floyd who is given in passenger lists of ships reaching America from 1623-1625 as a Nathaniel Floid ,24 years old,a passenger on the ship "Bona Nova". Other researchers had said "Nova" but another researcher based on LDS records found the above mentioned muster rolls on Automated Archives cdrom under "Immigrant Ancestors" category. It did not list his brothers as coming on this ship. They did come to" James Cittie" during the above listed years. James Cittie is Jamestown,,VA. Recently "I" found the same data in The Complete Book of Immigrants 1607-1776, vol,II, Chapter 20, 1625.It is under the caption "Mr. Blaney's Plantation, James Cittie." Gale Research did a resaearch on ship passengers that says Nathaniel Floid reached the shores of Virginia in 1625 at the age of 24. In the book "Kentucky-Virginia Floyd's", on page 6 it states that his brother Walter came with him on the Bona Nova but these same records says that Walter Floid reached Virginia in 1675. Gale Research did not Have William listed as coming on the "Bona Nova" with his brother Nathaniel Floid. Nathaniel is the first immigrant and started using the spelling FLOYD. Their father was Sir John Floid of Wales per LDS records THIS writer found and they had an older brother John who never came to America. The mother of the four is identified as "A Lady of Queen Elizabeth's Court".
