I have some information edit

I'm a distant cousin. Our ancestor, Joseph Dollar Sr. is William's grandfather, and a great-great grandfather of mine through my mother. Anyway, I have a 1981 letter typewritten by my maternal grandfather (Vernon Meyer 1913-1981) to a cousin in Columbia, Illinois, which as it goes down the list of Joseph's children says:

Son #3 of Uncle Ed and Aunt Kate brought a touch of class to the Dollar name. (Even the Dollars need a touch of class!). Against his mother's wishes he left home and went to Study dancing in St. Louis, then on to New York to study with Balanchine, dancing with the American ballet, into the movies to be Vera Zorina's dancing partner in The Goldwyn Follies of 1938. Later he became a famous choreographer. Nearly any book you read on the ballet will list his name. He's confined to a wheel chair now, but he still commutes between New York & Philadelphia, where he has two ballet schools. His name is William Dollar. He never married.

I have a scan of the letter, if that helps.--Pittsburghmuggle (talk) 08:00, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
