The image Rc10433.jpg is from the Florida Photographic Collection. This area of the collection features drivers at Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach (see Daytona Beach Road Course). All the other drivers were attempting to set land speed records or racing on the beach surface in car races. Shaw likely had a history of beach racing. Royalbroil 20:22, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

...Cannot be overemphasized. This article needs to be massively expanded to take into account that quite simply, his legacy as both a driver and a later authority in the racing world shaped what American motorsports became for the next half century. --Chr.K. (talk) 04:34, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
