The result of the move request was: Consensus to disambiguate all and put dab page at base name is unanimous. Only objection is regarding the TV program disambiguator because of the potential ambiguity with the ITV drama. That one may need a separate RM to resolve as there is not sufficient discussion here about that specifically to know. Specific moves that result from this discussion:

– According to page views, the 2016 film appears to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and should be moved to the base title (with a further redirect created at Who Gets the Dog? (2016 film)). Meanwhile, the 2007 British "comedy-drama" is incorrectly (and inaccurately) disambiguated as per WP:NCTV – it was a one-off airing, which makes it a "TV film", and thus should be disambiguated with "film" and the year it aired, as per WP:NCTV. Finally, the American TV show which aired on Animal Planet is clearly not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and should be disambiguated with "TV program" under WP:NCTV.
Note: I also would not oppose a solution which would move Who Gets the Dog? (disambiguation) to the base title, and would move Who Gets the Dog? (film) to Who Gets the Dog? (2016 film), along with moving the last two above as proposed. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:06, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Disambiguate all, move DAB to primary - Respectively to Who Gets the Dog? (2016 film), Who Gets the Dog? (2007 film), and Who Gets the Dog? (TV program). While the current page view stats for the 2016 film are high, that seems to be largely due to WP:RECENTISM (long-term page stats show it as a temporary spike). The true long-term significant topic is based around the tongue-in-cheek phrase related to divorce, upon which the two films are named for and certainly other topics in the future will be named. In ten years, we won't see any of these topics be particularly dominant. Better to disambiguate all and create a DAB, so that we can avoid ambiguous internal linking. -- Netoholic @ 09:34, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support moves with no primary per IJBall and Netoholic. --Gonnym (talk) 11:01, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment "Who Gets the Dog? (TV program)" doesn't work, the ITV programme is also a TV program, it'd have to be Who Gets the Dog? (U.S. TV program) -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 16:26, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
    • The ITV one is categorized as a TV "film" under WP:NCTV so there's no conflict here. A hatnote can certainly be added to the Animal Planet TV show article, to allay any minor confusion, but additional disambiguation is not needed in this case. --IJBall (contribstalk) 21:51, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
      • All TV films are TV programs, all TV series are TV programs, the "program" is the most generic term. Thus because of this specific ambiguity, it is a failure in WP:AT and needs further disambiguation. The NCTV recommends the disambguator term to use, but not how it is ambiguous to other terms in other categories (a failure of the NCTV guideline in not handling all cases, but then, nothing does, so the very root policy of WP:PRECISE to handle all the missing cases), thus we cannot choose an ambiguous disambiguator because it is ambiguous. -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 23:04, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
