White City depot or sidings edit

Hi - I've seen a fair bit of (recent) literature refer to this as "White City sidings" rather than depot. 1 2 3 Thoughts on a potential name change? Turini2 (talk) 20:03, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Whether the facility is described as a depot or as sidings primarily depends on the type of maintenance that is possible. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:55, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Okay then, so by the looks of the recent information regarding the post 2007 site - this seems to be sidings rather than a depot. Name change? Turini2 (talk) 17:06, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I was a guard, based at White City in 1980. The depot was never called anything but White City Depot by anyone I met or on my notices or roster, or the working timetable. Where did you see the idea that it was called "White City Depot and sidings"? Britmax (talk) 14:30, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Motacilla, what was the name of the depot that you were based at? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:16, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
The query I had was whether it is now known as "White City sidings" since the move underground Westfield London - or whether it's still known as "White City Depot" as previously. Interesting to note the TFL track map refers to the site as "White City stabling sidings". Turini2 (talk) 15:25, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Interesting. It may, indeed, have changed. But since it was once a depot what do we call it now? Britmax (talk) 11:25, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Turini2: @Britmax: I think the page should be left as White City Depot since when I tried moving it to White City Depot and sidings i got reverted with the edit summary this is not how naming or titles work (Bad excuse). The name White City Depot makes this consistent with other LU depots. Even though it could still be argued that the original 1900 one would be classified as a depot while the current one would be a sidings. C2A06 (AboutTalkEdits) 12:06, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
